Circonix Technologies, a division of Davis-Standard, LLC, specializes in the integration of advanced drive, control, and mechanical systems used in the web coating and converting industry. Circonix focuses on the modification and integration of drives and controls by using new and/or upgraded machine components to improve existing line performance with like new machinery. This unique UEM (Used Equipment reManufacturer) concept enables coaters and converters to take advantage of single-source responsibility for upgrading production lines including design, procurement, programing, fabrication, installation, commissioning and startup.

Deacro Industries, the most recent addition to Davis-Standard, LLC, is a global leader in slitting and rewinding technology that supports demanding finishing applications. The addition of Deacro enables Davis-Standard to provide complete solutions for paper, film and foil products from concept to finished rolls. Deacro’s product line includes a proven range of salvage rewinders, slitter rewinders, turret slitters and core cutters. Features include auto roll lock differential air shafts, closed-loop rewind tension control and auto core placement.

Products: Complete solution coating and laminating lines tailored for specific product requirements; coaters with an extensive range of standard and custom coating head configurations; laminators; dryers with a modular or integral design, floatation or roll support; PGH (pressurized gravure head); Steamex moisturizing system; CAS (coating air separation system) to remove air bubbles from fluids; Integrator PRO supervisory control system for an intuitive, operator-friendly, and fully digital control set; unwinds and winders to enable faster runs while maintaining quality; splicers; roll changers; slitter rewinders; rebuilds; upgrades of drives and control systems; turnkey installations. Circonix SplicePro advanced splicing control system; ExtrusionPro extrusion control system designed as replacement for older OEM systems; EEPA (Equipment Evaluation and Performance Audit); PowerPlant advanced supervisory control system; and ProCare comprehensive support package. The Deacro T800 duplex twin-turret winder for high throughputs and maximum versatility; the RS1300 shaftless salvage rewinder designed for handling master rolls; the C610 slitter for multi-mode operation for different applications; the CM152 core cutter for precise cut accuracy and high-speed cutting; and a host of other products to accommodate customer applications and budget parameters. Davis-Standard also supplies extruders and extrusion processing equipment for blown film, blow molding, cast film, compounding and pelletizing, elastomer, extrusion coating and laminating, fiber, laboratory, pipe, profile and tubing, reclaim, sheet, wire and cable, and wood fiber applications.

Capabilities: Davis-Standard’s research and technical center in Fulton, N.Y., houses a tandem coating laboratory line capable of operating speeds up to 3000 fpm (914 mpm) and widths up to 36 inches (914mm). The coating labs are equipped with cartridge-style coaters capable of more than 50 coating configurations, including variations of five-roll, hot melt, gravure, slot die, reverse roll, rod, air-knife, smooth roll transfer, curtain coater, dip and squeeze wet-bond or dry-bond lamination, and heat-bond lamination. Coaters and modules can be added based on customer requirements. Davis-Standard also has a pelletizing and plastics compounding laboratory, coextrusion laboratory for cast embossed, flat films and extrusion coating, and a continuous unwind and winding laboratory at the Fulton facility. A cleanroom medical tubing laboratory, a four- extruder development coextrusion sheet line, and a single screw extrusion lab line are located at the R&D center in Pawcatuck, Conn. Davis-Standard provides state-of-the-art equipment and process expertise to assist customers in testing new processes, developing new products, and producing material for field testing or market introduction.
